Living in East Devon on the Blackdown Hills, my artwork reflects a deep affection and knowledge of that environment. I have lived and worked in the country all my life and walking and being out in the elements is an important part of the process towards a piece of artwork. I like to get close to the landscape, familiarising myself with it to get a sense of place at a deeper level, understanding the structure and atmosphere. My interest in colour, texture and patterns within nature encourages me to look in detail at my subject matter.
I have exhibited through Devon Open Studios, various open exhibitions in the southwest and have taken part in several art projects including working with the Radicles on Dunkeswell Abbey and the Arete Group on the Glastonbury Festival. My work can be found in America, Australia and Spain as well as the UK.
